PS Girls & Counselors

Leigh Fernandez is from Portland and went to Waynflete.  She was a camper 2nd session 2012 (Bunk 8, Dialogue B) and a PS 2nd session 2013 (Bunk 1, PS 2, Table 16).  She is part of the green team.  During high school, she was the captain of the soccer, basketball, and lacrosse teams.  She won five straight State Championships (2 in lacrosse, 2 in soccer, and 1 in basketball), thus resulting in her nickname, "First Place Fernandez", coined by her favorite sports reporter, Michael Hoffer.  Leigh's favorite foods are whoopie pies and Cosmic Brownies.  She also enjoys going to basketball games to cheer on the McAuley Lions and loves attending Riley's hockey games with her good friend Mia.  She currently goes to Bowdoin College.

Mia Fisher is from Cumberland and graduated from Catherine McAuley High School.  She was a camper 2nd session 2012 (Bunk 7, Dialogue A, Table 2) and a PS 2nd session 2013 (Bunk 1, PS 1, Table 6).  She was on the green team her first year (2012) and the blue team her second (2013).  During high school, she was the captain of the field hockey team, President of the Social Action Club, Secretary of Key Club, and a member of the National Honor Society.  Mia likes Kerry Washington, the TV drama Scandal, chocolate, m&ms, sweatshirts, smoothies, and chai tea.  She also enjoys attending basketball and hockey games with Leigh.  Mia is majoring in Political Science and Public Policy at James Madison University.

Marian Gardner is from Scarborough and went to Scarborough High School.  She was a camper 2nd session 2012 (Bunk 8, Dialogue C, Table 9) and a PS 2nd session 2013 (Bunk 1, PS 2).  She was on the blue team her first year (2012) and the green team her second (2013).  During the summer months, Marian works at the Higgins Beach Inn and recommends that you stop in and try the muffins if you are ever in the neighborhood.  Previously, she was also the President of Scarborough's Civil Rights Club and a member of the National Honor Society.  Marian attends Brandeis University and would like to study International Relations with a concentration on International Development.

Cimone Jordan is from Syracuse, NY.  She was a camper 2nd session 2012 and a PS 2nd session 2013.

Riley McKeown is from Scarborough and graduated from Scarborough High School.  She was a camper 2nd session 2012 (Bunk 7, Dialogue B, Table 11) and a PS 2nd session 2013 (Bunk 1, PS 2, Table 8).  She was on the blue team both years--GO BLUE!  At Scarborough, she played hockey and ultimate frisbee, and she was a captain on both teams.  She was also part of her school's Civil Rights Club.  She has two brothers, one of whom is a member of the Seeds of Peace community, too.  Riley also likes khakis, sweatpants, and Miley Cyrus (BANGERZ, am I right?).  She is studying Psychology at the University of Dayton.

Ella Neville is from Syracuse and went to Nottingham High School. She was a camper 2nd session 2012 and a PS 2nd session 2013.  She plays soccer.  Ella attends SUNY Courtland.  

Anna Nguyen lives in Syracuse, NY.  She was a camper 2nd session 2012 and a PS 2nd session 2013.

Meredith Roderka is from Dexter and went to Dexter Regional High School.  She was a camper 2nd session 2011 and a PS 2nd session 2013.  During high school, she was an active part of Key Club.  She currently attends University of Maine in Orono and is part of the Honors Program.

Aleah Salsbury is from Dexter and is a senior at Dexter High School.  She was a camper 2nd session 2012 and a PS 2nd session 2013.

Morrigan Turner is from South Portland and is a senior at South Portland High School.  She was a camper 2nd session 2012 and a PS 2nd session 2013.  Most recently, Morrigan became a Student Representative for South Portland's School Board.

Abdi "Skittles" Ali is from Syracuse, NY.  He was a camper 2nd session 2012 and a PS 2nd session 2013.

Ahmed Adnan is from Portland and is a junior at Casco Bay High School.  He was a camper 2nd session 2012 and a PS 2nd session 2013.

Jared Dumas is from Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High School.  He was a camper 2nd session 2012 and a PS 2nd session 2013.  During high school, Jared was a participant of the track teams.  He was also was a Boys Nation Senator representing Maine, Dirigo Boys State Counselor, and Maine Youth in Government participant.  He aspires to be a lawyer.  Jared is studying Economics and Political Science at the University of Maine in Orono.

Qutaiba "Q" Hassoon is from Portland and went to Deering High School.  He was a camper 2nd session 2011 and a PS 2nd session 2013.  Q plays soccer.

Boni Kabongo is from South Portland and graduated from Waynflete.  He was a camper 2nd session 2011, Change Maker 2nd session 2012, and a PS 2nd session 2013.  He currently goes to Wheaton College.

Abdinoor Mohamed is from Syracuse and graduated from Corcoran High School. He was a camper 2nd session 2012 and a PS 2nd session 2013.

Raiss "Rosy" Muya lives in Syracuse, NY.  He was a camper 2nd session 2012 and a PS 2nd session 2013.

Mohamed Nur is from Portland and is a senior at Deering High School.  He was a camper 2nd session 2012 and a PS 2nd session 2013.

Dustin Simpson-Bragg is from Fairfield and is a senior at Lawrence High School.  He was a camper 2nd session 2012 and a PS 2nd session 2013.  He plays football and basketball.

Zack Wescott is from Westbrook and is a senior at Westbrook High School.  He was a camper 2nd session 2012 and a PS 2nd session 2013.  He golfs.
